After Ranking

So its been a wee while since ive done this blog!Im in painting woo!altough alot of my motivation is gone and im finding it tough to continue with coming up with decent concepts!!aarrghh!!Basically now Im focusing on people and conversation, doing something like movie stills where i take a video ,pause a section, paint it and so on,so i end up having a series of images telling a story allowing otheres to interpret it in their own way

electives!no.1=viscom!

Well im well into my second week of viscom and i must say i do quite like the yoke!:)
The first week we did typography and yes i admit that was a struggle trying to stay with tpue all the time and not introduce images as thats what I love the most. This type project however helped me do alot of problem solving.I realised that I tended to cast asside the obvious ideas and dive straight into the complicated, this of coarse was not a good game plan.I know to stretch the obvious first and LEAD into the complicated.
Ill upload some photos soon

some artists that i love

These first two pieces are by James Jean an Asian artist which Emily introduced me to,thanks Emily:)I feel that the first piece is relatable to my project as I'm investigating tattoo artists. The second piece is titled "the crayon eater"I love his work because his subjects are depicted in such an unusual way.His use of colour in ho first piece is set in blocks and looks almost like computer characters.

This piece is by Paul Wright an English artist.i took interest in his work because i think my painting style isn't too different from his.Splashes of colour rather than blended tones. This piece is called emerging head. The mediums used is oil on wood panel

These last two pieces are by Raymond Pettibon an American artist which I feel is somewhat evident in his work, the language used in his dialogue.I like this artist in particular because of his somewhat menacing subjects and use of dialogue which only add to his work allowing a story or scenario to be presented!
